Flood Pro Supreme Performance penetrates and bonds to exterior wood providing a flexible, long lasting rich matte finish, even on tough exotic hardwoods such as Ipe, Pau Lope®, Ironwood and Mahogany. Flood Pro Supreme Performance saturates, seals and stabilizes wood to minimize cracking, warping and other damage caused by moisture and sun. The unique formula, combined with premium U.V.-absorbing transoxide pigments, provides a finish that accentuates the beautiful color of your wood for years to come.
Available In
• Flood Pro Supreme Performance Natural is tintable to a wide range of wood colors. A sample brush out on the surface to be coated is recommended to determine the actual color result. For color uniformity, intermix in one container all products to be used on an entire section.
Where To Use
• All new and weathered exterior woods including T1-11, Cedar, Redwood and Pressure-Treated Wood
• New and weathered exotic hardwoods such as, Ipe, Pau Lope®, Ironwood, Mahogany and Teak
• Horizontal and vertical surfaces such as decks, siding, fences and furniture
Surface Preparation
• All surfaces to be coated must be free of all dirt, grease, grime, mildew and previous coatings.
• Apply to bare wood surfaces or over a previous weathered application of Flood Pro Supreme
Performance. Remove previous stain, varnish or sealers with Flood Pro Stripper/Cleaner per
label directions.
• Remove mildew with a solution of 4 ounces of non-ammoniated detergent (TSP), 1 quart of outdoor bleach and 3 quarts of fresh water. Allow this solution to remain on
the surface for 10-15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
• After cleaning allow the wood to dry 2 days or until it has reached a moisture content of 20% or less before finishing.
Preparation for New Wood
• New wood surfaces have a hard shiny surface called mill glaze that prevents maximum penetration and bonding of a finish. To properly prepare the surface for application, treat with a solution of Flood Pro Stripper/Cleaner diluted according to label instructions. An alternative is to sand the surface with 80 grit sandpaper, using a hand or pole sander. Clean off all loose wood particles. Test wood for absorbency by sprinkling water on the surface. If water is absorbed rapidly, the surface is ready for finishing.
